It is finally time for our school placements! I received an email two nights ago with a packet of information describing each school that WorldTeach will be sending volunteers to this year as well as information about where the volunteer at each site will be living. We now have to send in our top two choices back to our trip coordinator so while the decisions have not yet been made I am starting to get a picture of what my life will look like this coming year. My first choice for school placement is at the Kafule Secondary School. The school is described as having large class sizes (which in Tanzania probably means about 100 students in each class with only one teacher!) but the headmaster and other teachers are very helpful toward the volunteers which is a big plus. The school was started as a missionary school and the village remains heavily influenced by the Moravian Church. I will follow with more details if I get placed at this school but I would love your thoughts and prayers that God would be going ahead and preparing a place at whatever school He has chosen for me to live and teach.
Oh, for those of you who have not yet heard, our flights have been booked and I am officially leaving August 13th!

The One With The Disclaimer
WorldTeach had asked each volunteer who is going to be keeping a blog to write a disclaimer stating that whatever is posted on the blog are not the views held by their organization... so here goes. Please keep in mind as you read this blog that whatever is written are my views alone. With that in mind, I hope you enjoy hearing my heart come out as I write to you all here.
