Today was the first day of classes. The students here are absolutely incredible! Each
class stays in the same room all day and the teachers move from room to
room. Each time I walked into a class
all the students stood up and said in unison, “Good morning Madam” and then
stayed standing until I gave them permission to sit. It seriously melted my heart every time.
I did an introduction and review lesson today and will do the
same tomorrow with the classes I have not yet met with. Then Thursday I will start in with new
material. I am so excited to get started
with actual lessons! The students seem
so eager to learn. They clapped after
each class and sometimes even for each other when someone got an answer
right. I know it is going to be tough
teaching so many classes and so many students (learning their names alone seems
a near impossible task at this point) but I am confident that it is going to be
rewarding work!
How cool that the kid are so excited to learn! Im so bad with names anyway I can't imaging learning so many! Can you have them wear name tags? How many kids in each class?
ReplyDeleteIm so glad for this experience for you but I do miss you like CRAZY!!!!!
Love you Mom
It is going to be so incredibly rewarding for the students to have you as their teacher! I loved seeing the pictures of your home. How do we as American's ever think we have it so difficult?
ReplyDeleteAre you able to receive mail? How about packages?

Hi Carly,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your blog! This is an awesome way to look back at your day to day experience on this amazing journey. I'm so happy for you! And I LOVE the whole F.R.I.E.N.D.S theme you have going on with the title of each blog :)
Anyways, I wish you the best of luck on this once in a lifetime opportunity. Remember that whenever it gets hard, think about the success that you are bringing to your students and I guarantee that that will motivate you and give you the push to continue to do what you're doing!
Looking forward to reading more posts from you!
